Today started out so normal. Jason even helped Rachel play her computer game that she got for the holidays. It wasn't without a tantrum when WE played with her for a minute (and not him) but he came around and really said he wanted to play with her.
Who would have thought that just a few hours later, Jason would have slammed Rachel's finger in the bathroom door when she tried to follow him in? Yes, that happened and it scared me to death. It wasn't even at the fingertip When Jason slammed the door, her hand was wrapped around the the door at the hinge. Rachel's finger swelled up terribly, was bleeding ,and really looked like it could be broken. She didn't get over it all that quickly either.
Two hours and an x-ray later, over at Children's urgent care, we learned it was not broken. WHEW! It was not a pleasant experience, however, since Rachel's shots at 15 mos and then the attempted blood draw at 18 mos, Rachel screams at the top of her lungs when any doctor or nurse even touches her. So you can imagine the screaming session we had today. OY.
The worst part about this was that Jason did not feel bad about it all. He feels he was right because it's HIS bathroom and she should have known better than to follow him in.
When does this stage end??? Or does it?
