croup?

We took Jason to the doctor yesterday and he *might* have croup. It's hard to diagnose when he doesn't cough much in the daytime. It's the strangest thing. He coughs off and on normally and only occasionally throughout the day and then he gets in bed and coughs constantly... for hours upon hours. Last night was better than tonight seems to be going so far...

Even better, I am starting to feel like I am coming down with something too. The doc said the incubation period is about 5 days so perhaps we'll all be sick this wonderful Labor Day weekend? The weather is predicted to be sunny and in the 80s. Perfect weather to be stuck inside? ugh...

On another note, we leave for our trip to Myrtle Beach in one week! Once we get there, I know we will all have so much fun. The kids will get a whole week on the beach and will enjoy many indoor and outdoor pools and waterparks at our resort. It will be so much fun to see what they do with it (although the fact that Rachel ate the sand out of our sandbox is a bit concerning!) Jason has never been to a beach, I know he will just love it! As a huge bonus, Grandma and Grandpa will be there and Jason is really looking forward to seeing them. We just aren't particularly looking forward to the 12 hour drive down! We are breaking it up into 2 days and leaving next Friday. We think we might stop in Gatlinburg. We love it there.
