the 4th

Asia. This was the band we saw last night at the Mason park's "Red Rhythm and Boom". It was free and literally thousands of thousands of people were there. We all knew Asia from "Heat of the Moment" but were surprised to remember the song "Only Time Will Tell". It was a great concert and a good blast back to the good ole days! ahhh... gotta love the 80s!

We went with our neighbors, Andrea, Rich and little Brendan. Jason's friend from school, Nicholas, was there with his parents. Strangely enough, we ran into them at the waterpark on Sunday. Strange how that keeps happening since we ended up sitting so close to each other, both times, in hugely crowded places. Jason spent most of his time with Nicholas and his mom at the kiddie area and then throwing frisbees. Rachel actually had a great time just tearing apart our cooler and basket. Kansas played after Asia, but we headed home since the park is only a mile from our house and our driveway is truly as good as any other seat to watch the fireworks! After we headed home and put the kiddos to bed, Andrea, Rich, Steve and I parked ourselves in our cul-de-sac to watch the firework show. Amazing how it looks like the show is right down the street. It was fantastic. Lots of new stuff this year. I love that its so close so we don't have to stay there to watch it and then fight the crowds to get out there while our child screams in the backseat. :)

We may head to the waterpark with Dara and Nicholas again today... if the rain holds out.
